One question I get a lot when people start changing their diet is: Is ____ normal?

For example…

Is it normal that my face is breaking out? Is it normal that I have extreme gas? Is it normal that I’m going to the “bathroom” 2 times a day?

You might have some of these questions when it comes to this program and now that you have made it this far you might be experiencing detox side effects.

Below I wanted to list out some things I have personally experienced when cutting back on sugar or that other members have experienced.

Sugar Detox Side Effects:

  • acne, or breakouts
  • bloating
  • cold, or flu like symptoms
  • gas
  • tired
  • extreme cravings
  • chills

Those mentioned above are more like immediate/short term effects that you may or may not experience.

Now, here are some other effects your more likely to experience, getting better results the longer you stick with a ELS mentality.

  • Less Weight around your Mid Section
  • Freedom from the Afternoon Slump

Depending on where your health was when you started this program, your sugar detox effects might look a little different.

We always advise listening to your body, so if you feel discomfort it’s important to note if it’s something serious and unrelated to sugar, or if it’s just a side effect of this process.
