The Glow Getter

Hey Friends!

So today’s post is a little different…

If you’ve been reading for awhile, you know I don’t wear makeup. You could say I’ve been out of the game for awhile.

Since I’ve been gone, a lot of really great companies have created some clean natural makeup products that don’t harm your skin and get the job done.

I thought some of you ladies might be interested in some of the natural products on the market today?

Yes?!

Well, since I’m not really the expert in this area, and Peter can’t really chime in (that would be pretty entertaining though), I’ve enlisted my good friend Ailish, from The Glow Getter, to help us out.

Ailish is a babe and a total sweetheart, but most importantly, she knows about natural skincare. This is her specialty… so we’re in good hands.

I’m gonna let Ailish take it from here…

The Glow Getter’s Top Natural Beauty Picks

I get it.

You’re either on track, or getting on track with the help of Sarah and Peter and making great steps towards your health. You’re drinking a ton of water you originally never thought you could, and being honest with yourself about where you need to improve. You’re kicking butt at being really careful about what goes into your body, but what about all the products that are going onto it?

I’m Ailish Lucas, aka The Glow Getter, and I’m a natural and organic beauty blogger. Ta-dah! I’ll be your fairy godmother in this post to help point you towards some summer saviors so you can glow inside and out.

The fabulous Sarah and I have teamed up to bring you the best content we can, so you can feel and look amazing, and we can feel all warm and squishy inside.

Before I dive into my top picks, just a quick note on why I love natural and organic beauty products. I love these types of products because they are free from nasty chemicals such as parabens, sulphates, SLS, formaldehyde and mineral oil.

They cause irritation, skin sensitivity, are hormone disruptors and are dangerous to your health. When you’re trying so hard to look after what goes into your body, why ruin all that good work with putting products onto your skin that are bad for it?

So, the below top picks are some of my fav’s for helping get you on your way to glowing on the outside as well.

Sunscreen

Green People Sunscreen

I’m one of those people that has to form ‘shade club’ normally in order not to get burnt. No matter what sunscreen I used, it would irritate my skin, make my eyes water like crazy and just not do the job. So I had to sit out of the sun and miss out on the fun! Until I found Green People. The range is amazing, it doesn’t irritate your skin, goes on well and gave me a fab tan without any of the sunburn beforehand. They even have a kiddies range so have a look and let me know what you think!

Skincare

Pai Skincare

Pai Skincare was one of the first brands I came across in my natural/organic beauty journey and it’s remained a favourite. The products are simple, yet effective and feel just lovely. Before this, I used to have a nightmare taking my makeup off, where my skin was angry and sensitive until I found Pai. It’s a firm favourite here in the UK and I’m sure once you try it, you’ll see why. It’s suitable for gals and guys so gents, don’t be afraid to give it a go!

Haircare

John Masters Organics

John Masters is a classic. They are trendy yet organic and I lurve the Sea Mist that they have created so you can look like you’ve just come from the beach, even if you’re in the middle of the country! Genius! The collection is simple, fabulous and effective so make sure you’re looking after your hair with the right products. You’ll notice the difference. Trust me.

Makeup

Mascara Pacifica Beauty

One for the girls. Don’t forget that your mascaras can have nasties in them too, so don’t be putting any petroleum on those lashes because it’s derived from petrol! Eek! My favourite mascara at the moment is Pacifica Beauty because it gives length and volume and gives any non-natural mascara a run for its money! Why risk it when you can have a natural product that gives great performance?

Foundation – Vapour Beauty

One of the things I missed when going natural was a decent liquid foundation. I love how liquid foundation feels, how it blends so well and the finish it gives. So when I discovered Vapour’s liquid foundation, I was super excited. It gives amazing coverage, looks great and lasts. Let me know what you think if you try it!

Lipstick Ilia Beauty

Finally, did you know your favorite non organic lipstick probably has lead in it?! Yup, that’s right!

So when I discovered this, I had a little cull and invested in some amazing, organic, fabulous lipsticks instead. Ilia Beauty has some absolutely fabulous ones (especially the red!) that make you feel like you could take on the world. Seriously, one you try Ilia, you won’t go back.

So there are my top natural beauty picks for you!
