Sarah and I like to keep it simple in the kitchen.

Less is more when it comes to ingredients, kitchen gadgets, etc.

We actually take that philosophy into all aspects of our lives, but that’s another future post ;)

So if all you have is a blender and need to whip up a green juice, no problemo! This is for you!

Green Juice in a Blender

Here’s the recipe!

  • 4 leaves of chard
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1/2 a cucumber
  • 1/2 cup of parsley
  • 1/2 a lemon (peel can stay on)
  • 1/2 a green apple (peel and core can go in juicer)
  • 1/2 inch of ginger (peel can stay on)

Pour 1 1/2 cups filtered water into a high speed blender, followed by the ingredients in this order: chard, apple (cored), parsley, cucumber (chopped), celery (chopped), ginger (peeled) and lemon (juiced). Blend until completely smooth.
Strain out contents of blender by pouring through some cheese cloth, or into a paint straining bag or nut milk bag over a bowl. Squeeze cloth tightly to get all liquid out. Discard pulp and serve up juice in a glass. Feel free to serve over ice.

Sarah and I consider Green Juice to be a staple in our diets because 1) we make it every morning and 2) because it’s so dang healthy!

How did it go? What’s your favorite juice combination?
